We have teamed up with a couple therapists to offer equine assisted therapy! We are offering both equine assisted psychotherapy and hippotherapy.
Equine assisted psychotherapy "integrates horses into the therapeutic process to help individuals tackle a variety of mental health challenges, including addition, PTSD, depression, behavioral disorders, domestic abuse, and trauma." (Definition taken from the EAGALA website). McCord Training along with a licensed therapist will be providing structured activities with horses focusing on the client's mental health.
Hippotherapy is using the horse as a tool in physical, occupational, or speech therapy. We have partnered with Lindsey with Echo Hill Equestrian Physical Therapy to provide physical therapy. "During hippotherapy, therapists use the characteristic movements of a horse to provide motor and sensory input." (Definition taken from Life MD) Hippotherapy can be used to help with muscle tone, posture control, balance, coordination, mobility and more.
Everyone is welcome to attend our open house on Sept. 9th, 2025, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. It is a great time to tour the barn, talk with our owner Leah Urbanski, and interact with the horses. No charge to attend.
